Today, those of us with dogs got to bring them into work! It was so fun seeing six happy little pups socializing (and vocalizing) with each other.

It was a huge success! We interviewed a couple hundred people and made our decisions, awarding over $340,000!

Our ED came to work the other day with little gifts for us. Mine was a scapegoat, useful to punish when errors not caused by me are directed my way. I think this might come in handy during this peak scholarship season.

I’m gearing up for our scholarship interview day at work and I’m surprisingly not nervous. Maybe it’s because I was left with remarkable notes about the process and have had a lot of help. Plus, I’ve been really meticulous about staying organized throughout this process. That might help too. Anyway, wish me luck for Saturday… let’s hope it all goes smoothly.

I haven’t been posting much on my site lately. Part of that is because I’ve been using Facebook a lot more. It’s just easier and more convenient. I also have been incredibly busy at work. We’re in the midst of scholarship applicant selection AND I am working on two major new initiatives at work (one is a new internship program we’re starting the other is a new web-based scholarship application for next cycle).

On the home front, our new deck is installed and looks great. Now, we just need consistent sunny days to enjoy it.

What I might start doing is porting my Fb and Flickr updates to this site instead of “actively” posting… but we’ll see how that works out (depending on whether or not I can find good tools to do this).

For the new years, I’ll be celebrating in Paris! I’m also going to Barcelona for several days, which will be exciting. I’ll certainly have pictures online once I return (sort of like I did in Italy).

Gian and I have also been taking Italian language lessons and they have been going well! We’re learning key phrases and verbs. I’m excited for the next quarter to start.

Other than that, work has been keeping me busy (fun too!). That’s about it…

I had a great week in Indianapolis at the conference. I also got to visit with old co-workers and went to see friends in Ohio (which is only 3 hours away). It was a fun and educational week, which made me happy.

The only bum part is that one of my ears is plugged up from the flight. I feel all off balance and sick.

Our office had a staff dinner cruise yesterday evening. It was fantastic! The weather was perfect, the food was great, and I got to meet a bunch of new cool people. Here are a few pictures from my iPhone.

Last night, I went to my first Pride Foundation event as a staff member and really enjoyed myself. It was neat to meet several donors and get to talk about the scholarship program. Plus the venue and food were fantastic.

Speaking of work, I have several projects on my plate and have been super busy, which I LOVE! I’m working on implementing an online application system and expanding our outreach. Fun times ahead..
